Dr De Silva BSc(med) MBBS FRACS (Vasc)
Dr Pecky (Upeksha) De Silva is a Vascular and Endovascular surgeon. She is the Chair of Younger Fellows at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) and is on the RACS Women in Surgery Committee as well as the NSW RACS Regional Board. She is a Clinical Lecturer in the Discipline of Surgery at the Sydney Adventist Hospital Clinical School in the Faculty of Medicine and Health, University of Sydney.
Surgical Training
Dr De Silva completed her medical studies at the University of New South Wales. She then undertook her junior surgical training in Sydney at various hospitals. Pecky trained in Vascular Surgery in both Australia and overseas. She spent a year each at the National University Hospital in Singapore and the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Vascular Surgery.
Admitting Rights
Dr De Silva has admitting rights at the Sydney Adventist Hospital. She is also a Visiting Medical Officer in Vascular Surgery at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital.
Special Interests
Dr De Silva provides all Vascular and Endovascular treatment and has a special interest in:
- Varicose Veins and Venous ulcers
- Peripheral Vascular Disease – especially in diabetics
- Aortic aneurysms
- Arterio-venous Fistula creation and management
- Popliteal Artery Entrapment Syndrome
- Chronic Compartment Syndrome.
